Benefits of Concrete Fasteners
Posted by alibabarika in Business News on October 5, 2010
A concrete fastener is a screw, bolt system, or other fastening technique, designed to attach any non-structural object to a section of concrete. The concrete can be in the ground, or it can be part of a wall or other standing structure. There are an almost unlimited number of uses for a concrete fastener.
Note that concrete fasteners and concrete anchors are structurally and linguistically the same thing, except that the term “fastener” is used when describing non-structural attachments, whereas “anchor” is used when describing ways to hold a building or other structure in place. As you might guess, concrete anchors are much bigger than concrete fasteners.

If you are in the pressure washing business and are serious about what you clean on the ground floor, I suggest you attend the WOC. The WOC is the World of Concrete Expo in Las Vegas, which is held once per year. Each year it grows and is now one of the largest trade shows in Las Vegas. We spent two days walking the halls, meeting vendors, potential customers and learning about new materials, cleaners and equipment.
The first year we attended the show was the World of Concrete Expo 03′ from 02-04-03 to 02-07-03 we cruised the Blitz mobile around the Vegas Strip and into the World of Concrete (WOC) Expo. Talk about information over load, this was the largest Expo for Concrete ever in the history of the world, thus the name World Concrete Exposition was very appropriate. We met people from over 30 countries in attendance and discussed the markets in Europe, South Africa, South America, Australia, Japan and even Russia.
Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) – Financially Smart and Growing in Popularity
Posted by alibabarika in Business News on October 5, 2010
The popularity of Roller Compacted Concrete, commonly referred to as RCC is soaring as more contractors and construction companies begin to better understand the benefits associated with the paving material. The highly durable material has evolved since its creation in 1976 into an affordable and fast construction material used in dams, storage and parking areas, as a base for conventional pavement, and surface for low speed roads, streets, intersections and many other projects.
Roller Compacted Concrete is a very high density, low slump mix usually consisting of mostly aggregates, low cement, and just enough water for hydration. This creates a very dry stiff mix (low slump) that can be placed with conventional concrete equipment or high-density asphalt paving machines, then compacted with rollers. This creates a finished material that has the strength and qualities of conventional concrete with the price and ease of application as asphalt.
